Lakes Entrance: Heading up passed Kalimna Jetty and towards Nungurner for king George whiting and sand whiting, taking pipis. Under the highway bridge for good size squid, which are taking squid jigs. Myer street jetty for trevally, bait choice is blue bait. Surf beach’s for salmon. Of shore Six Mile Reef for pinkies and leather jacket. On the west side of the entrance closer to the beach for good gummies and flathead. Pipeline for 8.5kg snapper.
Lake Tyers: Bream are about at Long Point an at Black Snake Bit with prawn and worm as preferred bait. Good size tailor are cruising about taking surface lures for best results.
Mitchell River: Perch are still around Wy Yung and back waters. Bream are out and about the barrier to the bluff and Two Bells, best baits are spider crab, pipi’s and prawn.
Tambo River: Bream are active in river systems and bait of choice being pipi’s and live shrimp with very light sinkers to get good cast and slow drift.
Nicholson: Good spot to try for bream and flathead are at car bodies and the cliffs with prawns, plastic’s, shrimp and worm, also try trolling with lures for tailor.
Metung: Town jetties for bream taking prawn, give vibes a try as well. The back beach for flathead with best results using lures and prawn.
Paynesville: Best spot for bream, the strait and town jetties. Newland’s Arm is good for bream and mullet and the odd flathead. Ocean Grange for salmon.
Hollands Landing: Tom’s Creek and the wharf is a good land base during the day and night for bream taking spider crab. Griffin Point and Blonde Bay can produce bream, mullet and flathead with worm, soft shell and peeled prawn.
Marlo: Brodribb River and snowy are for good bream. Rock groynes for luderick, salmon and tailor of lures with a incoming tide. Surf for salmon and tailor. Off shore for gummies, flathead and pinkies.
Bemm River: Entrance still open, river and the lake for bream, taking local prawn and plastics. Peel Point for salmon with blue bait and poppers for best results.
Tamboon Inlet: River mouth for bream taking peeled prawn and shrimp. Pelican Point for flathead on pilchards around 54cm to 60cm. Peter rock for pinkies taking pilchards.
Mallacoota: Flathead in the bottom lake chasing lures. Salmon and luderick at Harrison’s Channel, the narrow also have flathead. Top lake and river for bream and flathead on lures prawn and plastics.
Omeo High Country: All rivers are down but the Mitta Mitta may produce trout. You will need to work for them, vary your baits, lures and soft plastic’s and be patient.
