Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: The Floating Dragon and surrounding jetties for trevally taking blue bait and pilchard. The surf for salmon. Offshore at the pipeline for good size snapper. flathead and gummy shark closer to shore.

Lake Tyers: Tailor are active around Mill Point using surface lures only. Devils Hole and Stoney Creek for bream around 42cm. Best results with peeled prawn.

Mitchell River: Bream are active from Shadoof Lodge and down to the Two Bells. Some are up to 40cm in length. Best baits are prawn, spider crab and soft plastic sprats. Bass are at Lindenow taking hard body lures and surface lures.

Tambo River: The best spots for bream are from the Power Lines and heading all the way up to The Cliffs, using pipis and live shrimp.

Nicholson: Between the two bridges is producing good size flathead with prawn as preferred bait.

Metung: Nungurner Jetty is worth a look for flathead and whiting on local prawn and pipis. Chinamans Creek and the Boardwalk is also worth a try. From Shaving Point and along the shallows for flathead.

Paynesville: The Strait and town jetties are the best spots for bream and mullet. Sunset Drive Boat Ramp and Fort King Ramp are also worth a try.

Hollands Landing: Bream are about in Lake Wellington and the strait, most are around 36cm. Best results with prawn.

Marlo: Offshore is producing good size fish. The rivers have nice bream, the surf for salmon, tailor and luderick on the incoming tide.

Bemm River: The river and lake have bream on worm and soft plastics. Trevally are in the channel taking soft plastics. The surf for salmon.

Tamboon Inlet: The river mouth for good size bream taking worm and prawn. Eagans Bank for flathead from 46cm to 50cm, for best results use lures and blue bait. Pelican Point is also producing flathead with lures and blue bait. The surf for 3kg salmon.

Mallacoota: The surf for salmon. The Top Lake for bream taking yabbies. Harrisons Channel is the best spot for luderick, bream and flathead using lures

Omeo High Country: With good rains about, all the rivers have improved and fishing is producing good results using worm.
