Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: The Footbridge for bream taking local prawn. The Floating Dragon jetty for yellow-eyed mullet and sand whiting. For the boaties, Reeves Channel and the Islands for King George whiting and silver whiting, using worm and pipis. Offshore at Six Mile Reef and the pipeline for snapper. Flathead and gummies are closer to shore.

Lake Tyers: From Camerons Arm and heading towards Devils Hole for bream around the 28-32cm size, taking peeled prawn. There are also some flathead to be had on peeled prawn.

Mitchell River: The best spot for bream is from Shadoof Lodge and down to the Two Bells. Best baits are prawn and shrimp.

Tambo River: From Burns Flat and all the way up to Blue Hole and The Cliffs for good bream with live shrimp as preferred bait.

Nicholson: From the Reeds and the Car Bodies to the Strait Six for bream with prawn and pipis for bait.

Metung: The town jetties are a bit quiet. Chinamans Creek and Boxes Creek are both worth a try. King George and silver whiting are still in the Nungurner area taking pipi and mussel.

Paynesville: Flathead are active around the mouth of the river on prawn. The Strait has some mullet taking worm as preferred bait.

Hollands Landing: The best spot for bream and mullet is the western end of the public jetty near the caravan park boat ramp known as the Deep Water Jetty. Best baits are prawn and worm.

Marlo: The rock groynes and island for luderick. Bream are in both rivers on prawn. Salmon and tailor on the incoming tide. The surf for salmon and tailor with gummies in the evening.

Bemm River: Local prawn and worm are the best baits for bream at the river mouth and in the lake. Flathead are still taking plastics. The surf for salmon on pilchard and poppers.

Tamboon Inlet: The entrance is now open. The best spot for bream and flathead is at the river mouth with blue bait and prawn as preferred bait. The surf for salmon.

Mallacoota: The best places to try for bream would be at the two rivers in the Top Lakes taking yabbies. Harrisons Channel is still producing a mixed bag with soft plastics and prawn.

Omeo High Country: Bundara and Mitta Mitta Rivers and the Dartmouth Dam for Trout using plastics and lures.
