Lakes Entrance: Flathead are about the Paddle Boat Point and down towards the Golf Club biting on soft plastics and blue bait. Eastern Beach and Bunga Beach for salmon taking metal lures with a single hook. Bronze Whaler Sharks are also at Eastern Beach. Good whiting is being caught at the back of the islands and Reeves Channel. The Nungurner Jetty area is also working for King George & Sand Whiting on shrimp and pipis. Offshore has been very windy but Six Mile and Pipeline are producing fish.
Lake Tyers: Big flathead is out and about the channel markers taking soft plastics. Blackfellow’s Arm has bream taking prawn and worm.
Mitchell River: The main bridge and the Wy Yung Bridge for perch taking two-and-a-half-inch watermelon grub. Bream are around the Barrier and down to the Cut and Two Bells. Best baits are prawn, shrimp and spider crab.
Tambo River: The Powerlines and heading up to The Cliffs are about the best spots for bream. Best results are on a drifting live shrimp with a long shank hook.
Nicholson: From the boat ramp and up towards the Car Bodies and The Cliffs for Bream taking live shrimp on a drifting bait.
Metung: The town jetties have bream, bait of choice being prawn and soft plastics. King George and Sand Whiting are at Shaving Point taking pipis.
Paynesville: Some mullet is about taking worm. Bream are at Picnic Arm and in the Duck Arm areas with best results on prawn.
Hollands Landing: Blonde Bay and Storm Point are ideal for bream, mullet and flathead, best results on worm, soft shell and peeled prawn.
Marlo: This week has been very windy. The surf has salmon and tailor and some mullet. The odd bream is taking prawn. Try the incoming tide for tailor and salmon with metal lures.
Bemm River: The entrance is still open. Bream are in the lake taking local prawn. The surf beach has been very windy and rough.
Tamboon Inlet: Egan’s Bank and Pelican Point for bream and flathead. Try around the Aeroplane Rocks and Peter’s Rock as well. Best baits are lures and pilchard.
Mallacoota: The wild wind is easing slowly. Harrison’s Channel is the best spot for bream and luderick on weed and yabbies. The odd flathead is to be had in the Top Lake chasing lures.
Omeo High Country: The Mitta Mitta, Angler’s Rest, Cobungra and the Bundarra Rivers are worth a look for trout. Try soft plastics, lures and worm.
