Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: Post office jetty have trevally and yellow eyed mullet taking prawn, barrier landing for luderick on weed. Nungurner Jetty area for king george and sand whiting with pipi’s and live shrimp. Offshore pipeline and Six mile reef is producing snapper with flathead and gummy shark closer to the beach.

Lake Tyers: Long point for bream and flathead using prawn, blue bait . Blackfellows arm have bream and flathead also. From the powerlines and to Short point for flathead on lures, try squidges and white lighting lures .

Mitchell River: Perch are active at the highway bridge taking green plastic’s and Galaxia Minow. Bream are about Shadoof Lodge to the cut on the eastern side of the river with prawn spider crab and shrimp.

Tambo River: Three gums, Clues bluff and along the rough road and try Lucerne paddock to the blue hole for bream taking live shrimp and pipi’s

Nicholson: Between the Two Bridges with drifting shrimp or prawn for bream, Pear tree and the Little cliffs are also worth a look.

Metung: The Town jetties are best for bream with prawn and soft plastics for best results. The Shaving point area is the place to be for King George and sand whiting, Best bait being pipi’s

Paynesville: Flathead at the mouth of the Mitchell taking prawns. Bream are about Duck arm and the Strait, best bait being prawn.

Hollands Landing: The strait, Seacombe landing, woodpile and Medusa point for bream, mullet and odd flathead.

Marlo: Gummy shark, bronze whaler, salmon and tailor are being caught of the beach. In the river system for mullet, luderick, bream and perch taking sand worm on the incoming tide for salmon and tailor on lures.

Bemm River: Lake still open, in the river and lake for bream with local prawn. Surf for salmon on pilchards and poppers.

Tamboon Inlet: Bream are at the river mouth taking prawn and shrimp. Pelican point for flathead taking lures and pilchard. Peters rock for trevally with blue bait and pilchards for best results.

Mallacoota: Big flathead being caught in the top lake, best results on lures. Harrison’s channel for luderick and bream on weed and yabbies for bream. Surf for salmon.

Omeo High Country: Best spot for trout are Dart mouth dam, The Mitta Mitta also try Anglers Rest and Bundara, bait to try with lures and soft plactics for best results.
