Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: The Footbridge has Tailor taking pilchard. Some King George Whiting are also about with pipi as preferred bait. Salmon are at Eastern Beach taking pilchard and poppers. From a boat both King George and Sand Whiting can be found around Nungurner and the islands taking pipi and mussel. Offshore, although windy “Pinkies” and Snapper are at the pipeline.

Lake Tyers: At the top of Nowa and Devil’s Hole for Bream taking prawn. Cameron’s Arm is producing Tailor and Bream with prawn as preferred bait.

Mitchell River: Bream are about Picnic Point and the Wy Yung bridge. The Bluff is another spot to try for Bream and at the Eagle Point boat ramp. Best results using spider crab, shrimp and prawn.

Tambo River: Burns Flat to the Blue Hole and up to the cliffs are the best spots for Bream. Taking live shrimp and pipi.

Nicholson: From the railway bridge and heading towards the car bodies and the Strait Six are the best spots for Bream with prawn and soft plastics.

Metung: Town jetties for Bream and Luderick. Preferred bait being prawn. From Shaving Point area and down towards the Lake King jetty for Flathead taking plastics and lures. For boaties the Nungurner area and islands for Whiting taking pipi and mussel.

Paynesville: The wind is being a factor in fish being scarce, but the Mitchell River mouth and the bluff have Bream taking sand crabs, shrimp and prawn.

Hollands Landing: The wood pile, Jones Bay and the river mouth of Tom’s Creek for Bream taking prawn. Blonde Bay and Cameron’s Point are also worth a look.

Marlo: Offshore has been windy but the fish are out there. The river system has some good spots for Bream taking prawn and plastics. The incoming tide for Salmon, Tailor and the “odd” Luderick. The surf beach has been very windy as well.

Bemm River: The Entrance is still open. Bream are in the river and lake systems with bait of choice being local prawn and sand worm. Flathead are also in the lake taking soft plastics.

Tamboon Inlet: River mouth for Bream biting on prawn and shrimp. Pelican Point and the lake for Flathead with lures and pilchard as preferred bait.

Mallacoota: The beach for Salmon. The Wallagaraugh River and Genoa River for Bream with yabbies as preferred bait. Harrison Channel still producing good Bream, Luderick and Flathead.

Omeo High Country: Bundara and Mitta Mitta Rivers are the best spots for Trout. Best results using soft plastics, lures, wobblers and spinners.
