Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: The town jettys are producing trevally with pilchards as best bait. The North Arm is worth a look. Whiting are to be found at Nungurner Jetty on pipis and shrimp. Try the surf beach for salmon. Offshore at six mile reef for pinkies. Water temperature is at 13.6 degrees and rising.

Lake Tyers: The bottom Lake near the channel markers for bream, flathead and tailor, best results using prawn and metal lures. Blackfellows Arm for bream on prawn. Bream also at Devils Hole taking vibes.

Mitchell River: Best spot for bream being from Grassy Banks and to the Cut with cut crab and prawn as preferred bait.

Tambo River: Best spot to try for bream are from the Power Lines to Rough Road, Marshall Flats and the Three Gums. The snags are also worth a look. Best bait prawn and shrimp.

Nicholson: Bream are between the two bridges, Strait Six and the Reeds. From the second fence to the river mouth are also worth a look for bream on shrimp and prawn.

Metung: Nungurner Jetty for whiting on pipi and shrimp. The Marina, Metung Wharf and the rock wall for bream, trevally and mullet. Best baits are worm, cut crab, and peeled prawn. Give Chinaman’s Creek a try as well.

Paynesville: Some bream and mullet are about the Strait, at structures and town jettys on pipis, worm and prawn. Try Duck Arm and Newlands Arm as well.

Hollands Landing: Blonde Bay, Storm Point and the rock groynes on the southern shoreline of Loch Sport for bream, mullet and tailor. Best bait prawn, worm and soft shell.

Marlo: The Snowy and Brodribb Rivers have bream, luderick and mullet on worm. The incoming tide for salmon and tailor. The surf has salmon. Offshore for gummies and flathead.

Bemm River: The river and lake for bream taking worm, local prawn and soft plastics. The surf beach for salmon with pilchards and blue poppers, try casting metal lures.

Tamboon Inlet: Pelican Point for trevally and flathead taking blue bait. The river mouth for bream with peeled prawn as preferred bait.

Mallacoota: Best spot is still Harrisons Channel for luderick, bream and salmon. Best baits are prawn, worm, weed and lures. The Top Lake is also producing bream on lures.

Omeo High Country: Doctor Mitchell Fishing Comp starts Friday and finishes on Sunday. Best spots are the Mitta Mitta River, Livingstone Creek and Bundarra River with soft plastics, lures and spinners.
