Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: The footbridge for trevally. Kalimna Jetty for whiting and for the boaties Fraser Island and Nungurner for whiting all on pipi and fresh prawn. Offshore they are getting plenty of snapper at 6 Mile Reef. The Pipeline for snapper and flathead. Gummy shark closer to shore on pilchard and squid.

Lake Tyers: They are catching good size flathead in the shallows. Up at Camerons Arm there are bream and perch using worm.

Mitchell River: Bream at Eagle Point, The Cut and towards the mouth of the river, using prawn, mussel and hurricane sprat lures.

Tambo River: Very quiet, the smoke and atmosphere are affecting the fishing. Catching some bream up to 40cm at the mouth on frozen prawn, pipi and shrimp.

Nicholson: Quiet, not catching anything of note – again the smoke is affecting the fishing.

Metung: Whiting are being caught off Shaving Point using prawn.

Paynesville: Bream at the mouth of the Mitchell on prawn. The lakes have tailor on hard bodied lures. Whiting and bream in the strait on prawn and pipi.

Hollands Landing: Flathead at Hollands Landing taking prawn, worm and cut pilchard.

Marlo: No one fishing at Marlo………too smoky.

Bemm River: Owing to the closure of the Princes Highway at Orbost no report from any of the fishing spots east of Orbost.

Tamboon Inlet: As above.

Mallacoota: As above.

Omeo High Country: Fishing impacted due to the drought and bushfires.
