Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: The town jetties are catching Trevally on pilchards and blue bait. Bream are about the North Arm Bridge taking local prawn. Whiting are out and about at Fraser Island, Reeves Channel and Hopetoun Channel taking pipi and shrimp. Surf beaches for Salmon. Offshore and Pipeline for Snapper and Flathead. “Gummies” can be found closer to the beach. Water temp is 17.5 C.

Lake Tyers: Flathead are in the Channel taking soft plastic’s and hard body lures, try the Glasshouse as well. Cameron’s Arm for Perch, some Bass are about the system. Bream are around the marker buoys on live prawn.

Mitchell River: Best spots for Bream are the Barrier, Two Bells and Rickes Point back waters. Highway Bridge for Perch on plastics. Best baits are spider crab and prawn.

Tambo River: Bream are around The Snags with prawn as preferred bait. Clues Bluff to Sandy’s Point have Bream, there are also some Flathead taking pippi.

Nicholson: From the Two Bridges up to the Car Bodies and including The Strait Six are best for Bream, Mullet and Flathead taking prawn, shrimp and worm.

Metung: King George Whiting are taking mussel’s, pippi and worm. Town jetties are producing Bream and Luderick with best results using prawn and weed.

Paynesville: Bream are around the mouth of the Mitchell River, with some Flathead cruising about biting on plastics and prawn.

Hollands Landing: Around Storm Point and into Blonde Bay, are best for Bream, Mullet and Flathead, using worm, prawn and soft plastics for best results.

Marlo: Before the Snowy Bridge on the left hand side for Bream on frozen prawn. The structures are producing Luderick and Perch on live prawn. Frenchs’ Narrows for fresh prawns and Flathead taking prawn. The surf for Salmon. Offshore for “Gummies” and Flathead.

Bemm River: The Entrance is still open. Bream are active around the river mouth taking soft plastics. Trevally are to be had on the incoming tide also on soft plastics. The surf for Salmon chasing lures.

Tamboon Inlet: The river mouth is producing Bream on fresh prawn and shrimp. Egan’s Bank has Flathead on pilchards. Peter’s Rock for Salmon which are taking lures and pilchard.

Mallacoota: The entrance is closed but Harrison’s Channel is producing Bream and Luderick. Best results using weed and yabbies. The Top Lake is best for Bream and Flathead with yabbies for Bream and lures for Flathead.

Omeo High Country: Water levels are dropping but the best spot for trout at the moment is in the Bundarra River taking all baits presented to them.
