Lakes Entrance: Ferryman’s jetty for Trevally and Luderick taking prawn and weed. Post Office jetty for Mullet biting on worm and prawn. Bunga Beach still producing good Salmon, taking blue bait and pilchard. Offshore for Pinkies, biting on pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers: Blackfellow’s Arm, Long Point and up to Stony Creek for Bream with the “odd” Flathead around snags and structures. Best bait being prawn and shrimp. Try the Bluff for Salmon on pilchard and bluebait.
Mitchell River: Eagle Point, highway bridge and the back waters are producing Bream and Perch. Best baits being vibes, hard body lures, spider crab, shrimp and soft plastics.
Tambo River: From the bridge and all the way down to the river mouth for Bream 35cmm plus. Best bait being shrimp and worm.
Nicholson: Between the two bridges and up to car bodies for Bream, taking peeled prawn, crab and shrimp.
Metung: The boardwalk, Chinaman’s Creek and town jetty or Bream and Mullet on vibes, worm and peeled prawn.
Paynesville: McMillan Strait is the best spot for Bream at the moment, using vibe lures for best results.
Hollands Landing: Lake Victoria’s waters are producing Silver Whiting, Mullet and Bream. Bait of choice is worm and shrimp. Try different areas and keep moving about as the fish are there.
Marlo: The lake and river system is fishing well, with plenty of fish about. Luderick, Bream, Perch, Mullet, Salmon and Tailor. Surf is also good for Salmon on lures and pilchard. Offshore is producing Flathead taking pilchard.
Tamboon Inlet: Tamboon South, Old Man Point and up to Pelican Point as well as main lake for Bream, Flathead, biting on worm, prawn and soft plastics. Surf for Salmon on popper and pilchards.
Bemm River: Best spot for Bream, Luderick and Salmon are in the shallow banks as well as from Mahogany’s to Pearl Point. The river mouth and the mouth of the channel are also producing fish on sand worm, prawn and lures.
Mallacoota: Surf beaches for Salmon, using popper and pilchard. Luderick at main wharf on incoming tide taking weed. Head up to the Top Lake, the Genoa River and Wallagaraugh River for Bream and Perch taking yabby and prawn.
Omeo High Country: Season opens Saturday. Try all rivers and “good Luck!” Best baits being worm and lures.
