Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: Town jetties are still producing Mullet and Trevally on pilchard and blue bait. Nice Salmon at Bunga and Eastern Beaches, taking pilchard and popper. Six Mile Reef for “Pinkies”, Nanagi and Morwong, taking squid and pilchard.

Lake Tyers: Nice Bream are up around the top end of Nowa Nowa Arm, biting on worm and shrimp. Blackfellow’s Arm is producing Flathead taking blue bait. Some Tailor are still about. Good size Salmon on the beach, with lures as bait of choice.

Mitchell River: At the highway bridge around evening for Perch and Bass, with the best results using soft plastics, prawn and hard bodied lures. Bream are about grassy banks down to “the cut” and “two bells.” Best bait being spider crab, shrimp and worm.

Tambo River: From Sardine Flats and heading all the way up to the cliffs for Bream. Best bait being live shrimp. Try a few spots and then move on towards the “blue hole.”

Nicholson: The cliffs, car bodies, down to the highway and railway bridges are best spots for Bream with prawn and live shrimp as preferred baits.

Metung: Chinaman’s Creek, the boardwalk and town jetties are spots to try for Bream and Mullet. Box Creek is also worth a look. Best results using live shrimp, vibes and softs plastics.

Paynesville: The Straits have Bream biting on shrimp, vibes and worm. Mullet are in the lake system and town jetties. Best bait being worm. Some Tailor or taking lures.

Hollands Landing: The caravan park on Lake Victoria for Bream taking spider crab. In the Straits and into Lake Wellington for Bream and Mullet. Bream are a good size taking spider crab and worm.

Marlo: Bream, Mullet, Perch and Luderick are to be had, best baits being worm and prawn. Surf for Salmon and Tailor on popper and pilchard.

Tamboon Inlet: Bream are about Lake Furnel river mouth biting on peeled prawn. Also give Fisherman’s Landing and Peach Tree Creek a go.

Bemm River: Bream are in lake and the river. Bait of choice being peeled prawn, worm and soft plastics. Some Flathead and Trevally in the channel taking plastics. Surf for Salmon on pilchard on poppers.

Mallacoota: Surf is producing plenty of Salmon on incoming tide. Best baits are lures, poppers and pilchard. Luderick are at the main wharf taking weed. Bream are in the Top Lake and river. Best bait being yabbies. Some Flathead are on the go as well.

Omeo High Country: Plenty of fresh water coming into all the rivers at the moment, therefore water is a bit murky, so try floating worms/lures.
