Weekly Fishing Report Lakes Entrance

Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: Leather Jackets are at Bullock Island Jetty. Plenty of Mullet and Trevally on all the town jetties, best results using pilchards. Eastern Beach and Bunga Beach for Salmon on silver Lures. Offshore for pinkies and rubber lipped morwong.

Lake Tyers: Bream are on the move from Trident Arm and up to Nowa Nowa. Best results being prawn. Black Fellows Arm and Mill Point are producing 80cm flatties taking soft plastics.

Mitchell River: Moderating flooding in the Mitchell River, best to try the back backwater and right at the River Mouth, use smelly baits, prawn and worm.

Tambo River: Bream are about from the Power Liners and all the way up to the cliff’s chasing live shrimp.

Nicholson: From car bodies down to the bridges and towards the mouth of the river for bream using prawn, worm and live shrimp.

Metung: Town jetties the boardwalk and heading to Chinaman’s Creek for bream, bait of choice vibes, live shrimp and prawn. Boaties try Bancroft Bay, Shaving and Mosquito Point on prawn and spider crab.

Paynesville: High water coming down, Luderick on town wharf taking worm. Bream also on mussel and shrimp. Perch at river mouth off the Mitchell River on live baits.

Hollands Landing: Wood Pile, The Straits, and Tom’s Creek for bream taking crab and prawn. Loch Sport jetties for mullet on worm.

Marlo: Some rain water is entering the system, so back water area’s and river are best spots to try. Surf is good for salmon and tailor on poppers. Offshore for pinkies, flatties and morwong.

Tamboon Inlet: Lake Furnell and Furnells Landing for bream, bait of choice being cut crab and live shrimp, flatties are at the football ground, best bait pilchard and white bait. Surf for salmon on pilchards and poppers.

Bemm River: Windy and wet but fishing is good in sheltered waters, late in the day for best results. Trevally and flatties in the channel on worm and plastics. Luderick around weed beds on worm and shallow float perch are patchy but will take hard body lures.

Mallacoota: Big Beach for salmon on an incoming tide best results using popper and pilchards. Bottom Lake for salmon and tailor using lures on incoming tide. Main Wharf for luderick on weed. Top Lake around Cape Horn for flatties and bream, best bait yabbies and lures.

Omeo High Country: Creek and river are high, Mitta Mitta and surrounding rivers are good for trout. Blue Duck have been producing 4lb trout on soft plastics. Hume Weir have big trout on the bank. The Womens’ Classic IS AT Dartmouth Dam this weekend.
