Lakes Entrance: Mullet and trevally are taking pilchards at all town jetties. Bunga beach for salmon, bait of choice being blue bait and pippies. Eastern beach is also worth a look. Off shore for morwong, nanagi and pinkies on pilchards and squid
Lake Tyers: Bream and trevally are out and about at Camerons Arm and moving upwards towards Nowa Nowa, best bait prawn, flatties 60cm – 70cm are in shallow water from Blackfellows and towards Trident Arm, best bait plastic lures.
Mitchell River: Bream are at the river mouth and the Two Bells, best bait spider crab and prawn. Highway Bridge for Perch and Bass, best results using vibes. The water is still a bit Murky.
Tambo River: Bream are about the Power Lines and Lucerne Paddock and up towards the cliffs. Bait of choice being live shrimp.
Nicholson: Between the 2 bridges and heading up the strait six are the best spots for Bream. Best results on live shrimp and Prawn
Metung: From town jetty and up to shaving point best spot for Bream, bait of choice being pippies and prawn. Try shallow water down to Lake King Jetty for flatties on plastic lures
Paynesville: Estuary Perch are at the mouth of the Mitchell River taking live shrimp and lures. Cruiser Club jetty for Bream and Mullet taking worm, mussels and shrimp. Surf has gummies on a new moon, squid is the bait of choice.
Hollands Landing: Plover Point, The straits and the Wood Pile and headinf towards Holland’s Landing for Bream, best bait spider crab and prawn. Tom’s Creek and Blond Bay for bream, mullet and flatties, best bait worm and soft shell
Marlo: Rain Waters are entering the lake, so fishing is a bit slow. The surf beaches still have salmon and tailor taking poppers and pilchards. Off shore for pinkies, morwong and flatties on pilchard and squid.
Tamboon Inlet: Tailor are out and about in the lake, trolling a silver lure is best bait. Bream are at Duck Splash and heading towards Furnell Landing. Bag limits have been reached with fish being 32cm to 36cm. Best bait cut crab and live shrimp
Bemm River: Plenty of Bream and Trevally are in the lake with best results using sand worm, prawn and plastics. Some flatties are about. Luderick are taking sand worm under a float. The Entrance is still open.
Mallacoota: Yellow Fin Bream on an outgoing tide on yabbies, incoming tide for salmon taking lures. Surf for salmon with pilchards and poppers as best bait. Luderick are at the main wharf and fisheries wharf with mussel as preferred bait. Bream and trevally in Harrison Channel. Flatties in the Genoa and Wallagaraugh Rivers.
Omeo High Country: There is plenty of rain coming into the local river systems, as a result live worm on a drifting line is the best, you could also try a float. Lures and flies also worth a try. Watch for insects and match your baits with your fly for best results.
