Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: The town jetties are producing Trevally, Luderick and Mullet. Best bait is small pieces of pilchard. Bunga Beach for good Salmon, using blue bait. Off shore for Pinkies, Morwong, Nanagi and Leather Jackets, best bait is pilchard and squid.

Lake Tyers: Flathead are about taking plastic lures. Bream at Nowa Nowa off the bank, using prawn. Black Snake, Blackfellows and Toorloo Arm have Tailor up to 50cm, taking metal lures.

Mitchell River: Eagle Point and towards the river mouth have Bream on spider crab, vibes and shrimp.

Tambo River: Again a good catch of Bream from Rough Road down to the river mouth. Best results using shrimp.

Nicholson: Between the two Bridges for the best results of Bream, using prawn.

Metung: Shaving Point to the mouth of the Tambo for Bream. Try the town jetties and Bancroft Bay for Salmon and Tailor on lures.

Paynesville: Bream are still in the Straits taking vibes. Mullet are off the town jetties on worm. Try the surf for Salmon on pilchards and poppers.

Hollands Landing: Clayton Fishing Club came up at the weekend with good results of Bream, Poddy Mullet and Whiting in Lake Victoria. The bait used was worm and shrimp.

Marlo: Luderick and Mullet are around the rock groynes, taking worm. Plenty of Bream are about taking peeled prawn and worm. In the Channel on the incoming tide for Salmon and Tailor. The surf for Salmon and Tailor on pilchard and poppers. Offshore for Flathead and Gummy Shark.

Tamboon Inlet: Peachtree, Fisherman’s Landing and around the boat ramp for Bream, Mullet and Tailor, using prawn, worm and plastics. Try the surf for Salmon.

Bemm River: Mud Lake and Swan Lake for Bream taking worm. Try Pelican Point as well. Salmon in the channel taking wrigglers and prawn. From the river mouth and heading up the river for Bream on worm.

Mallacoota: The beach for Salmon and Tailor on pilchard and poppers. Luderick off the Main Wharf on weed. The Bottom Lake and Harrison Channel on the outgoing tide for Yellow Fin Bream on yabbies. The Top Lake and Betka River for Bream on prawn. Perch in the Narrow’s on hard bodied lures.

Omeo High Country: Rivers are full of rain water and flowing high. Try lower reaches of the rivers with worm and lures as best bait.
