Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: Foot Bridge for Trevally with white bait the bait of choice. Eastern Beach for Salmon, best results using silver lures. Off shore six mile reef for Morwong, nanagi and pinkies, bait of choice squid and pilchards

Lake Tyers: From the Glasshouse and up to Nowa Nowa for good sized bream on prawn and hard bodied lures. Flatties from Long Point, Blackfellows Arm, Black Snake Bite and Trident Arm, best bait being whole peeled prawn. Luderick around No 2 boat ramp. Trolling for tailor using lures around the green house.

Mitchell River: From the cut and into the river mouth for bream, best bait being spider crab and vibes. At the moment the highway bridge have perch chasing soft plastics and hard body lures.

Tambo River: Bream at the three gums, the Blue Hole and the Cliffs, best results using shrimp and cut crab.

Nicholson: Bream are out and about at the highway bridge and the car bodies and up to the cliffs, with best results using shrimp.

Metung: Town Jetties and the Boardwalk up to Chinamens Creek for Bream, Mullet and Perch, best results using spider crab and live prawn. Boxes Creek, Bell Point and around the Island are worth a try.

Paynesville: The best spots are town jetties which are producing good bream up to 40cm. The Straits are worth a look, best results using live shrimp and mussels. Surf for gummies on full moon, best bait squid and pilchards

Hollands Landing: Seacome Landing, the Wood Pile and Hollands Landing in to Jones Bay for Bream, best baits are spider crab and prawn. Griffin and Medusa Point are also worth a look.

Marlo: Plenty of bream, mullet and luderick at Rock Groynes. Salmon and Tailor in the channel taking lures. On the beach for Salmon and Tailor taking silver metal lures. Off shore for flatties and gummies on pilchards and squid

Tamboon Inlet: Furnell Landing and the Bull Ring for bream, best results using cut crab and shrimp. Try the lake for salmon and tailor taking white and blue bait. Surf beach also good for salmon and tailor on blue bait and lures

Bemm River: Entrance is still open so bream are in the river and the lake. Best baits are sandworm, peeled prawn and soft plastics. Surf for salmon around the 2kg mark on poppers, blue bait and pilchards.

Mallacoota: Plenty of salmon on the Surf Beach, best bait poppers and pilchards. The top lake is producing plenty of bream on yabbies and lures. Perch are also about taking soft plastics. Flatties are in the Genoa and Wallagaraugh Rivers, best results using lures.

Omeo High Country: Anglers Rest, Mitta Mitta and the Livingstone rivers are the best spot for trout, best results using celter’s, bronze wobblers and floating worm. Try the following fly patterns, Black Mattocka, Cabbage Moth and Dry Flies.
