Lakes Entrance: The Footbridge for Trevally, taking white bait. Past the Paddle Boat Hire for Whiting on worm. Bullock Island Jetty for Leatherjacket, taking squid. Offshore for Snapper up to 7kg, Seven Gill Shark and Nanagi on pilchard and squid. The surf beaches for Salmon.
Lake Tyers: Bream are about Devils Hole, the islands and down to the entrance. Best baits are crab, prawn and live shrimp. Flathead are on the move from Blackfellows Arm, Long Point, the channel markers, The Glasshouse and the power lines. Best results using soft plastics.
Mitchell River: Perch and Bass at the Highway Bridge taking lures, earth worm and plastics. Bream in the Backwater on spider crab and prawn.
Tambo River: Bream are a bit quiet, but give the Lucerne Patch, Blue Hole and the Cliffs. Best bait is live shrimp and prawn.
Nicholson: From Pear Tree and towards the river mouth for Bream taking live shrimp and peeled prawn.
Metung: Around the Marina, Metung Wharf and the rock wall for Bream, Mullet and Silver Trevally. Best baits are worm, shrimp, peeled prawn and vibes.
Paynesville: Eagle Point Bay, Mitchell River mouth and the river mouths of the Nicholson and Tambo for Bream on live shrimp and peeled prawn.
Hollands Landing: McLennan Strait, the Wood Pile and into lakes Victoria for Bream, taking soft plastics, live shrimp.
Marlo: Fishing is a bit patchy. The surf for Salmon and Taylor on pilchard and poppers.
Tamboon Inlet: At the mouth of the Furnell and at the Deep Hole for Bream on cut crab and live shrimp. Eagans Bank for Flathead and Taylor taking pilchard.
Bemm River: Surf for Salmon up to 2kg, best bait is blue bait and poppers. The lake for Bream and Luderick on sandworm and local prawn.
Mallacoota: Salmon on the beach, best on the outgoing tide using pilchard and poppers. The Top Lake and Harrison Channel for Yellow Fin Bream. Taylor in the Bottom Lake with the best results using lures. The Wallagaraugh and Genoa Rivers for Perch using hard bodied lures and soft plastics.
Omeo High Country: Cobunga, the Gibbo, Mitta Mitta and the Livingstone are worth trying with best baits floating worm and wobblers.
