Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: Bunga Arm for salmon taking blue bait. The footbridge has trevally on pilchards. Whiting at Nungurner Jetty and Reeves Channel taking pippies and mussel. Offshore for snapper, nanagi and morwong. Bait of choice being pilchard and squid.

Lake Tyers: Flathead are cruising from Blackfellows Arm and towards the Glasshouse, best results using prawn and soft plastics. Bream are around the islands on the bottom side, bait of choice being prawn.

Mitchell River: Best place for perch is the highway bridge on hard bodied lures and soft plastics. The backwater for bream on spider crab and prawn. The cut, two bells and the river mouth for bream on hard bodied lures and soft plastics.

Tambo River: From Bucks Flat and up to the Blue Hole for bream. Best bait being live shrimp.

Nicholson: Try between the two bridges for bream on live shrimp and prawn. The cliffs are also worth a try.

Metung: Box’s Creek, Chinaman’s Creek and the boardwalk for bream and whiting. Best bait being shrimp and prawn.

Paynesville: Tailor are cruising Eagle Point Bay and are chasing lures. Raymond Island has produced good luderick in grass and weed areas taking weed. Ocean Grange for gummies taking squid and pilchard.

Hollands Landing: The Straits, Woodpile and Hollands Landing for bream taking prawn, mussel and live shrimp. Tom’s Creek and Blonde Bay are worth a look.

Marlo: Fishing is good all through the river system with luderick, mullet and bream taking sandworm and weed. The surf for salmon, tailor and bronze whaler sharks. Offshore for gummies and flathead. Best bait being pilchard and squid.

Tamboon Inlet: The river mouth for bream on prawn and worm. Eagan’s Bank and Pelican Point for flathead. Try the lakes as well. Best results on soft plastics. The surf for salmon and kingfish on pilchards and poppers.

Bemm River: The river mouth, Bob’s Bay and the Mahoganys are best for bream on prawn and pilchards. The surf for salmon on pilchards and poppers.

Mallacoota: Sorry, no report this week.

Omeo High Country: Livingston Creek, Anglers Rest, Mitta Mitta and the Victorian rivers are all fishing well. Best bait worm, lures and flies.
