Lakes Entrance: Salmon are at Eastern Beach taking pilchards and poppers. The footbridge still has the odd kingfish around. Best results using softplastic lures. Offshore at the Pipeline are snapper, flathead and on the Six Mile Reef for kingfish.
Lake Tyers: Fisherman’s Landing hasflathead taking prawn as their preferred bait,also try Toorloo Arm, Long Point and shallow water areas. There is some bream at Pile Bay and up the Nowa-Nowa Arm on fresh prawn. Surf Beach for gummy shark on squid. Also try the Glasshouse banks for flathead and bream.
Mitchell River: Grassy banks to theriver mouth are the best spots for bream on prawn and spider crab, some flathead are about taking curl tail grub. There is a chance to win $10,000.00 forGolden Tagged fish Seevfa.vic.gov.au/recreational-fishing/golden-tag-competition for details.
Tambo River: From the Powerlines and along the Lucerne Paddock, the Blue Hole and the Cliffs are the best spots for bream, using live shrimp and local prawn.
Nicholson: Try the 2nd Fence, the Two Bridges and up to the Car Bodies for bream, mullet and the odd flathead with prawn, shrimp and sandworm for best results.
Metung: The best spots for bream are at the Boardwalk and up to Chinaman’s Creek area with local prawn. The back beach is still the spot for fresh prawns.
Paynesville: Kingfish are cruising about, the best bait is squid. Trolling with lures will get you tailor and in the Strait is the best spot for bream with prawn as preferred bait.
Hollands Landing: Seacombe Landing, The Wood Pile and into Bull Point for bream, mullet and flathead on prawn, worm and pilchards, also try Blonde Bay as well.
Marlo: The entrance has been open to the Ocean, but with the fires at Cape Conran fishing has been affected.
Bemm River: Owing to the closure of the Princes Highway at Orbost there is no fishing reports east of Orbost.
Tamboon Inlet: As above.
Mallacoota: As above.
Omeo High Country: Fishing impacted due to the drought and bushfires.
