Lakes Entrance: The town jetties are again attracting Mullet, Trevally and Luderick. Best results being worm, pilchard and weed. Surf beaches for Salmon on pilchard. “Pinkies” and Morwong are being taken around Six Mile Reef, biting on squid and pilchard. Boaties, check conditions before going out.
Lake Tyers: The entrance at Lake Tyers Beach opened this morning. Fishing will be a bit patchy, but the surf should be o.k. for Salmon biting on pilchard. It may take a few days to settle down.
Mitchell River: With recent heavy rains over the last few days, the river is very high and rising. Plenty of debris in the river which will take time to clear.
Tambo River: Bream were to be had around the river mouth and Punt-house Point, but that has changed with all the recent rain.
Nicholson: Bream were taking worm between the highway bridge and railway bridge but with the rain, the river is up at the bank and rising. It will take a few days to clear.
Metung: Once again with all the rain, fishing has gone quiet with water entering into the lake system. Give it a few days to clear.
Paynesville: Mullet and Bream are taking worm, but with the river entering the lakes has made the water murky. You could give the back lake a go.
Hollands Landing: Lake Wellington has plenty of Mullet, taking worm and flour balls with mince. The Strait and Tom’s Creek are flowing fast.
Marlo: Before the rains came, off shore had “Gummies” and Flathead taking worm and pilchard, but now the flood waters have arrived and have flooded all areas. Try the surf for Salmon using pilchard and poppers.
Tamboon Inlet: Fennell Landing for Bream, Flathead and Perch, biting on prawn and lures. Give Peach Tree Creek a try. Surf for Salmon on pilchard and poppers.
Bemm River: Not as much rain has fallen, as a result Bream have been taking vibes and local prawn. Surf for Salmon on metal lures and pilchard.
Mallacoota: Bream and Flathead are in both lakes taking pilchard. Beaches and Davies Creek for Salmon taking pilchard. Main wharf for Trevally biting on pilchard. Fisheries wharf and Bettka River for Luderick taking prawn.
