Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: Mullet, Trevally and Luderick are around the town jetties on worm and pilchard. Offshore at Six mile Reef for Pinkies and Morwong, the best bait is squid and pilchard.

Lake Tyers: Bream are about at Toorloo Arm and Burnt Bridge, taking prawn. With the Lake now open, on the incoming tide, Tailor and Trevally are around the channel markers, best results with prawn and pilchard.

Mitchell River: The river is clearing slowly with the best spots at the mouth, The Cut and Two Bells. The baits to use are yabbies, prawn and worm and if you can get them scrub worm.

Tambo River: The mouth of the river is producing good size Bream on spider crab, local prawn and worm.

Nicholson: From the Little Cliffs down to the river mouth and Thumb Point for Bream, taking prawn and worm.

Metung: Around the mouth of the Tambo and Chinaman’s Creek are good spots for Bream on prawn and worm. The water is slowly clearing.

Paynesville: Bream from 35-40cm and Mullet are near the Blue Bridge. Potty Mullet, Perch and Bass are in Jones Bay and heading into the river mouth. Best baits are worm and mussels.

Hollands Landing: The best spots to try are the Wood pile, Tom’s Creek at the mouth and Holland’s Landing. Try using pippies, mussels, worm and Local prawn.

Marlo: The Surf is producing Salmon and Tailor. The Backwater, The Slips, French’s Narrows are the best spots for fish and the best baits are prawn, blue bait, squid and metal lures.

Tamboon Inlet: Mud point to Fisherman’s Landing and the mouth of Peach Tree Creek for Bream, Mullet and Tailor. Duck Slash may be worth a look on prawn and worm.

Bemm River: The entrance is still open. The lake is producing Bream with best results using peeled prawn and worm, also try blades. There are a few Tailor about as well.

Mallacoota: Flathead and Bream are in the Bottom Lake, with prawn as best bait. Fisheries Wharf and the Main Wharf for Trevally and Bream on pilchard and prawn. Harrison’s Channel and the Narrows for Flathead on pilchard and prawn.

Omeo High Country: Season Closed.
