Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: Sand Whiting are about the Floating Dragon biting on pipi. Nungurner Jetty is worth a try. Flathead are along the shallow sand banks up from the Surf Club opposite Slipways biting on soft plastics. Some Kingfish are around the bridge at Eastern Beach. Salmon are about there as well. Offshore at Six Mile Reef and the “Pipeline” for Flathead and “Gummies”. Good size Snapper around 6kg are about the reefs. One Golden Tagged Bream has been caught at Lakes Entrance.

Lake Tyers: Bream are at No. 2 Boat Ramp marker buoys taking prawn. The Glass House area for good sized Flathead. Best results using blue bait and lures. Some “Pinkies” can be found in deeper water.

Mitchell River: The river is still a bit muddy but try the Wy Yung Bridge area. Backwater for Bream using earth worms for best results and the Barrier all the way down to the river mouth using prawn and worm.

Tambo River: From Marshalls Flats,Three Gums and heading towards the mouth is the best spot so far for Bream on drifting prawn.

Nicholson: The two bridges and up to the cliffs for Bream with drifting prawn, worm and soft plastics. The 2nd fence at the river mouth is also worth a look.

Metung: Bream are out and about the town jetties with best results with prawn and soft plastics.

Paynesville: The Strait is best for Mullet and the “odd” Bream. Flathead are about Newlands Arm and Sunset Drive taking peeled prawn. The “odd” Kingfish is about taking lures.

Hollands Landing: Hollands Landing for Black Bream on prawn. Point Wilson for Whiting taking pipi and worm. At Loch Sport at dawn and dusk for Flathead taking all baits.

Marlo: Bream in the system taking prawn. French’s Narrow for Flathead. Surf for Salmon and Tailor. Offshore is still producing a good mixed bag.

Bemm River: The entrance is closed. Bream and Flathead are in the lake and channel taking soft plastics, hard body lures, worm and local prawn. Three Golden Tag fish have been landed.

Tamboon Inlet: Peter’s Rock for Trevally taking blue bait and pilchards. Pelican Point for Flathead on soft plastic lures and all baits. River mouth for Bream on prawn.

Mallacoota: Fishing is good through the system in the lake and narrows producing Bream, Flathead and Trevally. Best results using prawn, worm, yabbies, soft plastics ad hard body lures.

Omeo High Country: Rain has arrived to freshen up all the rivers. Best results usingearth worm, lures and soft plastics.
