Lakes Entrance: The Post Office jetty is producing Trevally and Mullet. Flathead are still active around the Barrier Landing and South Channel. Good size Salmon and Mullet are being landed off the surf. Best bait is local prawn, pilchard and soft plastics.
Lake Tyers: Plenty of Bream are biting in the lake on peeled prawn. Flathead are “on the go”, after sunset around the power lines, No. 2 jetty and the “Glasshouse”. Soft plastics, prawn and pilchard are picking up fish.
Mitchell River: Bream have been caught around “grassy banks” and “the cut” on prawn and spider crab. Estuary Perch are around both bridges, taking ‘squidgees” and hard bodied lures.
Tambo River:Sandy’s Bluff and Rough Road are the spots for Bream, using prawn and shrimp.
Nicholson: Bream have been landed between “Little Cliffs” and the mouth. Best bait is sandworm and prawn.
Metung: The boardwalk has produced plenty of Flathead on local prawn and whitebait. A few King George Whiting are also about.
Paynesville: The jetties are still good for Bream and the “odd” King George White using mussel and local prawn. Tailor are striking silver lures. The surf has “Gummies” biting on squid at night.
Hollands Landing: Bream and mullet are cruising around Jones Bay. Try prawn, whitebait and soft plastics.
Marlo: Fishing is excellent, but may change with extra water coming down the Snowy River. Flathead, Bream and Estuary Perch have been taken on prawn, soft plastics and sandworm. The surf has good size Salmon and Tailor.
Tamboon Inlet: The Entrance channel has some large Flathead biting on soft plastics and bluebait.
Bemm River: The Entrance has closed, but fishing is still good. The lake has plenty of Bream and Flathead, with a few Trevally. Local prawn and hard bodied lures are catching fish.
Mallacoota: Gipsy Point and both lakes have good numbers of Bream and Flathead. Live ‘poddies” and plastics are getting good results. Trevally and Luderick have been caught off the wharf, with a few sand whiting.
Omeo High Country: Fishing has been patchy, but some large female Trout, with roe have been landed in the Mitta Mitta, usually these are released.
