Lakes Entrance: One lucky angler landed a 2.5kg Albacore off Bullock Island. Salmon, Trevally and a few King George Whiting have been caught in the Channels, using local prawn, pilchard, pippi and metal lures.
Lake Tyers: Plenty of Prawns are in the Lake, so the fish are feeding well. Recent wind and rain has affected fishing, but patience will get you Bream and Flathead in the main Lake. Peeled prawn and soft plastics are picking up fish in deep water.
Mitchell River: Bream and the “odd” Flathead have been landed off the Silt Jetties. Best bait is spider crab, local prawn and soft plastics.
Tambo River:Bream are biting between Three Gums and the mouth, using sandworm and prawn.
Nicholson: The “Tyres” area is producing Bream on shrimp, prawn and soft plastics.
Metung: The recent Bream “Comp” had plenty of anglers out, but fishing was slow. However some good size Bream were taken on local prawn, mussels and sandworm.
Paynesville: Bream have been landed off the wharf, using sandworm and peeled prawn. School and King George Whiting are in the Strait, with pippi and sandworm catching fish. Gravelly Point on Raymond Island has Flathead. Try soft plastics.
Hollands Landing: Jones Bay has good size Bream biting on peeled prawn and sandworm.
Marlo: Both Rivers have Bream, Estuary Perch, Mullet and Flathead, taking local prawn, diving lures and soft plastics. Salmon and Tailor are still prevalent off the surf. Silver metal lures are productive.
Tamboon Inlet: Tailor, Bream and Mullet are around Fishermans Landing. Prawn and sandworm are catching fish.
Bemm River: Trolling lures in the Channel has large Tailor being caught. Bream are in the lake, with local prawn accounting for most fish. The surf has Salmon and Trevally. Blue bait and poppers are best bait.
Mallacoota: Both Lakes have plenty of Bream, with a reasonable amount of Flathead. Local prawn, yabbies and soft plastics are taking fish. The narrows are good for Estuary perch and the “odd” Mulloway, on live “poddies” and hard bodied lures. The Slipway has Luderick and Captains Point has Tailor.
Omeo High Country: Fishing has been slow in the Mitta Mitta, but some anglers have landed Trout on crickets and dry fly.
