Lakes Entrance: King George Whiting and Trevally are biting between Nyerimilang Park and Nungurner, in Reeve Channel. Peeled prawn and pilchard are catching fish. Flathead and Trevally are also “on the go” in the shallows of Cunninghame Arm, east of the footbridge. Plenty of Salmon have been landed off Eastern Beach.
Lake Tyers: Flathead are active from Mud Island to Black Snake Bight. Try soft plastics. Bream have been harder to find due to cooler water temperature. However, some have been caught in Blackfellows Arm on live prawn.
Mitchell River: Bream and a few flathead have been taken between Shadoof Lodge and Eagle Point. Soft plastics, bluebait and mussel are best bait.
Tambo River: The Reynolds Road area is producing Bream on prawn, shrimp and sandworm.
Nicholson: Bream have been landed under the railway bridge, using peeled prawn and soft plastics.
Metung: Patience is still required to catch fish, but persistence will get you King George Whiting and Flathead in Bancroft Bay.
Paynesville: Bream are in the Strait, with local prawn picking up fish. Some Luderick and Tailor have also been caught, using weed and metal lures, respectively.
Hollands Landing: Jones Bay is still producing Bream on sandworm and peeled prawn.
Marlo: The Rock Groynes have Luderick, with Mullet, Estuary Perch, Bream and Trevally biting off the Snowy River platforms, down to the Estuary. Soft plastics, local prawn and diving lures are best bait.
Tamboon Inlet: Bream and Mullet are opposite the boat ramp, with sandworm and prawn producing fish.
Bemm River: The Lake has plenty of Bream taking local prawn and hard bodied lures. Trevally and Tailor are in the channel, chasing metal lures. The surf has “Gummies”, using squid.
Mallacoota: Anglers are bagging out on Bream in both lakes using local prawn and plastics. The jetty is good for Luderick on weed. Flathead, Tailor and the “odd” Mulloway are in the narrows.
Omeo High Country: A few MacQuarie Perch and Trout have been landed on scrub worms, in the deeper holes of the Mitta Mitta.
