Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: King george whiting are biting from the entrance to the Kalimna Jetty. Salmon and mullet are in Cunninghame Arm with sandworm and silver lures landing fish. Some lively luderick are in the North Arm Channel taking weed and pippi.

Lake Tyers: Trevally and tailor are active around No.2 Jetty during sunrise. Metal lures and prawn are best bait. Good sized bream are around Cameron’s Arm. Flathead are in Blackfellows Arm around the channel markers and the Glasshouse. Try soft and hard bodied plastics.

Mitchell River: Estuary perch are around the Highway bridge and in the backwater. Diving lures are producing fish. Bream are between Shadoof Lodge and the barrier. Bass are around Lindenow.

Tambo River: Fishing is patchy but bream have been caught around Rough Road on peeled prawn.

Nicholson: Bream have been taken around Pear Tree using sandworm and prawn.

Metung: King george whiting are still biting off the boardwalk and Metung Jetty. Pippi and sandworm are catching fish. A few bream have also been landed.

Paynesville: The jetties on Mc Millan Strait are producing bream, trevally and tailor on sandworm and shrimp. Flathead are around Trapper Point.

Hollands Landing: Bull Point has good size bream and flathead taking spider crab and prawn.

Marlo: Both rivers have bream, estuary perch and mullet with spider crab, prawn and hard bodied lures taking fish. Luderick are still around the rock groynes.

Tamboon Inlet: Bream, mullet and tailor are cruising between the jetty and island. Prawn and sandworm are best bait.

Bemm River: The lake has flathead on the go using live prawn. The channel is good for trevally and tailor on soft and hard bodied plastics. The river has bream taking local prawn.

Mallacoota: The Top Lake has flathead striking soft plastics. Bream are in the Bottom Lake with tailor in the narrows. Luderick are being caught off the wharf on dusk.

Omeo High Country: The river levels are low but brown trout can be found in water holes throughout the Mitta Mitta. Hoppers are catching fish.
