Lakes Entrance: Trevally and mackerel are still about the town jetties, the footbridge and Myer St jetty. Best bait being pilchard. Whiting are still about the islands on pippies. Off shore kingfish at Tamboon Reef and Marlo reef. At Lakes Entrance gummies and large snapper are about with plenty of pinkies also being taken. Best results on pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers: Flathead are everywhere in the lakes system sometimes in deep water and then around the shallow banks. Best results using plastics and drifting bait. Bream are around NO 2 Jetty taking pilchard and prawn.
Mitchell River: Grassy banks, the bluff and all the way to the river mouth for bream taking soft shell and spider crabs as well as prawn. The highway bridge and butter factory for garfish, mullet and perch on worm and vibes
Tambo River: From rough road, punt house point and the snags at the river mouth for bream taking prawn. Early morning is best.
Nicholson: From the two bridges, the reeds and up to the cliffs for bream. Best bait prawn, shrimp and worm. The odd flathead and mullet are also to be found
Metung: The boardwalk and up to the Yacht Club for bream. Try Shaving point for bream and flathead in the shallows. In Bancroft bay try trolling for salmon and tailor on lures. Land based fishing best baits prawn, pippies and worm.
Paynesville: With a competition going on today the best spot for bream is in Mc Millan Strait with worm as bait of choice. Try Newlands Arm for a mixed bag of fish including perch, tailor and garfish.
Hollands Landing: Best place for bream at the moment is at Holland’s Landing with best results using live prawn and worm.
Marlo: The river and estuary are fishing well with perch, bream, mullet and black bream taking prawn. The surf for salmon on poppers and pilchards. Offshore at the Marlo Reef for king fish on pilchards and squid.
Tamboon Inlet: Furnell Landing for bream, perch and flathead taking prawn, worm and soft plastics. Try the shallow banks at mud point and pelican point.
Bemm River: The main lake for bream on prawn, try the river mouth as well. Flathead are cruising the shallows taking prawn and lures. The surf is quiet at the moment.
Mallacoota: Offshore for king fish, the surf for salmon on pilchard and poppers. Plenty of bream in the top lake taking lures. Luderick, tailor and trevally are at the fisheries jetty on weed prawn and lures.
Omeo High Country: With the snow on Monday the water should be colder so all the rivers will be producing trout on worm and lures.
