Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: Trevally are active at the Myer Street jetty taking pilchards. Eastern Beach is producing salmon with pilchards and poppers. Off shore try Six Mile Reef for snapper. Out wide for swordfish, good size tuna, morwong and leather jackets.

Lake Tyers: Bream are about at Long Point with prawn as best bait. Try upper reaches like Devil’s Hole and up past the boat ramp.

Mitchell River: Dusk is best time for bream at the Grassy Banks, The Bluff and towards the Two Bells using local prawn and sandworm.

Tambo River: Best spots for bream are at the Highway Bridge and towards the power lines using local prawn.

Nicholson: From the Boat Ramp and towards the Trestle Bridge for bream. Best results using a floating prawn. Bream are around the 42cm mark.

Metung: Try early morning and late evening for bream at Boxes Creek. Best results using worm and fresh prawn.

Paynesville: Mitchell River mouth for bream. Try the structures around town jetties, Picnic Arm and Trapper Point using drifting prawn.

Hollands Landing: The Strait is producing bream using prawn and worm as preferred bait. Small whiting and bait fish are around the banks using worm and pipi

Marlo: Off shore is producing flatties and shark. The surf beaches have salmon on pilchards and poppers. Bream are in the lake system with best results using a drifting prawn.

Bemm River: Bream and some tailor can be found in the river using soft plastics, hard body lures also try drifting prawn.

Tamboon Inlet: The river is producing bream using prawn. Western Bay for trevally on pilchard and blue bait. Try the Surf for salmon using pilchard, poppers or blue bait.

Mallacoota: The surf is producing salmon on pilchard and popper. Luderick and some trevally are around Fisheries Wharf and Harrison’s Channel using weed. Top Lake is best for bream. Bottom Lake for flathead on lures.

Omeo High Country: CLOSED SEASON.
