Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: Early morning at Bunga Beach for good size salmon on pilchard, poppers and lures. Flathead are at the entrance taking lures. The footbridge still has kingfish taking soft plastics. Fraser Island is producing King George whiting on worm and pipi. Offshore at The Pipeline for kingfish up to 14kg on pilchard. Pinkies and flathead are also about. Bait fish close to the surface and the odd gummy.

Lake Tyers: Long Point and Blackfellows Arm for bream. The main lake for flathead, trevally and tailor chasing bait fish, soft plastics and prawn.

Mitchell River: The river is a bit dirty, best spot for bream is The Cut and heading towards the river mouth. Baits to use are soft plastics, hard bodied lures, spider crab, prawn and vibes.

Tambo River: Marshalls Flat and The Three Gums for bream on live shrimp, prawn and soft plastics.

Nicholson: From the Highway Bridge and up to the Strait Six for bream and flathead on prawn and shrimp.

Metung: Prawns are still at the back beach. The Boardwalk, Chinamans Creek and Box’s Creek are the best spots for bream and mullet on prawn and worm.

Paynesville: The Strait is producing kingfish with lures. There is also some bream about taking prawn.

Hollands Landing: Hollands Landing for bream on fresh local prawn.

Marlo: The Hobbie Bream Competition is on this weekend. Offshore for kingfish and gummies. In the lake system for bream and perch taking prawn. The surf for salmon, tailor and bronze whaler shark.

Bemm River: Owing to the closure of the Princes Highway at Orbost there is no fishing reports east of Orbost.

Tamboon Inlet: As above.

Mallacoota: As above.

Omeo High Country: Fishing impacted due to the drought and bushfires.
