Lakes Entrance: Footbridge is great for Trevally, using Pilchards. Kalimna Jetty with the incoming tide for juvenile Bay Trout, best using Pilchard and lures. Bunga Beach in early morning for Salmon, try Pilchards and poppers. Off shore Six Mile Reef for pinkies.
Lake Tyers: Best spots for good sized Bream are The Islands and up to Cameron’s Arm and Happy Valley, using peeled prawns
Mitchell River: Back waters for Bream with the preferred bait being local prawn, cut crab and shell. Also try the Cut and lower reaches of the Mitchell River.
Tambo River: The best spots for Bream are the Snag’s, Tambo Bay and Swans Bay. The mouth of Salt Creek is also worth a look. Best bait to use is shrimp, yabbies and prawn.
Nicholson: The Little Cliffs and down to the mouth of the river for Bream, using plastics and prawn. Thumb Point and Jones Bay are worth a look now.
Metung: The best spots to try for Bream and Mullet are the marina, town jetties and the Rock Wall, using worm, shrimp, peeled prawn and spider crab. Trolling Bancroft Bay for Salmon and Taylor, use lures for best results.
Paynesville: In the strait for Bream and Mullet, best bait to use is worm, shrimp and crab. The river mouth is also good for Bream, try spider crabs and shrimp. Surf beach for Salmon, preferred bait is Pilchards and blue poppers.
Hollands Landing: Jones Bay, Tom’s Creek and Blonde Bay are best for the Bream, preferred bait is soft shell, peeled prawn and worm. Also, Seacombe Landing is also worth a look.
Marlo: Mullet are about the system taking worm. Some Bream are about, try using prawn. Frenchs Narrow have Flathead cruising on prawns and plastics. Surf Beaches are good for Salmon and Tailor. Offshore when you can get out, is a mixed bag.
Bemm River: The river is the best spot for Bream, using lures, soft plastics and prawn. The lake and channel are worth a look.
Tamboon Inlet: Bream at the river mouth, use prawn. Lake Furnell also has Bream. Peters Rock for Trevally and Tailor, using Pilchards as preferred bait.
Mallacoota: Bottom Lake for Salmon, using lures. Harrison’s Channel for Luderick and Bream. The Geona River and Wallagaraugh River for Bream and Flathead.
Omeo High Country: CLOSED SEASON.
