Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: The upper reaches of the North Arm has Bream. Casting in at the Shallows with prawn for best results. Surf Beaches for Salmon, use pilchards or poppers. Offshore have strong winds and water temp is around 12 degrees.

Lake Tyers: Best spot for Flathead is in the Trident Arm with prawn as preferred bait. Devil’s Hole has Bream, using large prawn as preferred bait. Also try The Island’s for Bream. Flathead are around the shallow areas and sandbanks.

Mitchell River: Best spots for Bream are at The Cut and Two Bell’s, using drifting local prawn. The highway bridge has Perch, best using soft plastics and hard bodied lures.

Tambo River: The Rough Road, Clues Bluff and heading towards the river mouth and the snags are the best for Bream. Use shrimp and yabbies. Also try plastics.

Nicholson: Best spots for the Bream are at The Reeds and up the Strait Six. Best Bait to use is prawn and soft plastics. Some Mullet can be caught with worms.

Metung: Whiting are active in The Shaving Point area, taking worm as preferred bait. Chinaman’s Creek and along the rock wall is good for Bream. Try the town jetties with vibes for Bream.

Paynesville: Best bait for Bream and Mullet are mussels, crab and worm. Town Jetties and The Strait are the best spots.

Hollands Landing: McLennan Strait and the Wood Pile and into Bull Bay are the best spots for Bream and Mullet. Use prawn, cut pilchard and worm as preferred bait.

Marlo: Lake Corringle and around The Island’s and the Junction are best spots for Bream, Perch, Trevally and Luderick. Best results using small lures, soft plastics, prawn and worm. Surf for Salmon on pilchards and poppers.

Bemm River: Bream are up the river taking lures and prawn. Also try The Channel for Bream.

Tamboon Inlet: Bream are up the river mouth and heading to Furnell Landing. Best results with prawn.

Mallacoota: Harrison’s Channel for Luderick, taking weed. Best spot for Bream or Flathead is at the Genoa River and The Wallagaraugh River. Best results on lures.

Omeo High Country: CLOSED SEASON.
