Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: Bullock Island for mackerel. Town jetties are quiet. Surf beaches are producing salmon in the mornings and late afternoon. Try pilchard and blue bait. Offshore try the six and eight mile reef for pinkies using pilchards.

Lake Tyers: Bream are about Trident Arm. Devils Hole has bream and flathead with best results by using plastic grubs, hard body lures and prawn. Pile Bay Creek is also worth a look.

Mitchell River: Backwater for bream, Grassy Banks, The Cut and Two Bells. Best baits being local prawn, vibes and imitation worm.

Tambo River: From Burns Flat, Highway Bridge and the Power Lines for bream using prawn as preferred bait.

Nicholson: The river has some good size bream also it has plenty of juvenile bream. Best bait being prawn and soft plastics.

Metung: Chinaman’s Creek and Boxes creek are best spots for bream around evening using spider crabs, prawns and worm. Try Nungurner Jetty for whiting using worm and pipi.

Paynesville: The river mouth of the Mitchell is best for bream. Also Town Jetties and the Strait using prawn.

Hollands Landing: The McLennan Strait is producing bream and garfish. Best results using lures, prawn and worm. Try LochSport town jetties for bream.

Marlo: Luderick can be found around the Island using worm. Bream are throughout the Lake System using prawn and worm. Try the surf for salmon on pilchard and popper. Offshore for a mixed bag.

Bemm River: Bream and luderick are in The Channel, worm being the preferred bait. Also try the Lake for bream using vibes and soft plastics.

Tamboon Inlet: The Football Ground is producing 2kg trevally using pilchards. Bream are around the islands using peeled prawn as best bait. Salmon is being caught on the surf using pilchards.

Mallacoota: Bottom Lake is producing flathead taking lures. Bream and flathead are in the Top Lake using yabbies and prawn. There are luderick in Harrison Channel using weed. Try Fisheries Wharf early morning for bream and trevally on pilchards.

Omeo High Country: CLOSED SEASON.
