Lakes Entrance: Surf beaches for salmon and tailor on pilchards and poppers. The islands and the Barrier for whiting taking worm. Town jetties have bream, trevally and flathead on prawn and blue bait. Offshore the Pipeline for pinkies and flathead, closer to the beach for gummies and flathead.
Lake Tyers: The lake system is producing flathead, bream, tailor and garfish mainly in the deeper water. Best bait being prawn and worm.
Mitchell River: The Cut, Eastwood Bridge and backwater for bream taking spider crab, prawn and worm. The Butter Factory, Eagle Point and the river mouth for garfish taking worm.
Tambo River: From the boat ramp and down to the river mouth for bream, best results using local prawn.
Nicholson: From the Reeds, the Two Bridges and down to the second fence for bream on prawn. Trolling with lures from the river mouth and toward the boat ramp for tailor.
Metung: Flathead are active in the shallows at the back beach taking fresh prawn. Town jetties and towards Shaving Point for bream taking soft plastics.
Paynesville: Kingfish are back in Mc Millan Strait taking prawn and mussels. Try trolling with lures and plastics.
Hollands Landing: Mc Lennan Strait, Woodpile and Hollands Landing are producing good bream, bait of choice being local shrimp.
Marlo: The entrance is closed, as a result the fishing system is a bit slow. Some estuary perch and bream are about taking live prawn. Surf beach for salmon and tailor. Offshore for a mixed bag.
Bemm River: The entrance is closed and the water is up high in the system. Bream are about taking soft plastics and local prawn. Tailor are active, best results trolling with lures.
Tamboon Inlet: Fisherman’s Landing and Peach Tree Creek camp ground for mullet and tailor. The river mouth for bream on prawn. Try Eagans Bank for a mixed bag.
Mallacoota: Flathead are chasing lures in the Bottom Lake. The Top Lake for bream, best bait being yabbies. Harrisons Channel for luderick on weed. The surf for salmon and tailor on pilchards and poppers. The entrance is being opened today.
Omeo High Country: Still no rain so fishing will be a bit slow, try the Mitta Mitta River.
