Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: King Fish are cruising the Cunninghame Arm with the best spots being the Post Office Jetty and the Myer Street Jetty Try plastics and poppers. Mackeral on Bullock island taking pilchard. King George Whiting at Barrier Landing and the islands, on pipis and worm. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for Snapper, Flathead and Gummies closer to the beach.

Lake Tyers: Bream are in the lake system taking prawn, also at The Power Lines and Blackfellows Arm on worm and prawn. Tailor are taking prawn and silver lures.

Mitchell River: The Butter Factory has fish taking worm. The Eagle Point Jetty is also producing Garfish. Bream are about Shadoof Lodge and down towards Eagle Point, best baits being prawn, worm and spider crab.

Tambo River: Bream are about at late evening from the boat ramp and down to the river mouth on local prawn.

Nicholson: The best spots for Bream are around the river mouth, Thumb Point and up to the two bridges. Try The Cliffs as well, best bait is local prawn.

Metung: The best spots for Flathead taking fresh pawn is along the boardwalk and up to the town jetties.

Paynesville: Bream and Flathead are around Newlands Arm taking prawn. The Strait is best for Kingfish and Tailor using plastic poppers and lures.

Hollands Landing: At Hollands Landing good size Bream are about using frozen prawn. Around Lakes Victoria is worth a try for Bream taking prawn. The surf for a mixed bag.

Marlo: The Snowy is a bit muddy. The Brodribb River has Bream on prawn and worm. The surf for Salmon and Tailor on pilchard and poppers.

Bemm River: Bream are in the lake. For best results use hard bodied lures, soft plastics and local prawn. The surf for Salmon on pilchard and poppers.

Tamboon Inlet: Peter Rock is producing Pinkies with blue bait as preferred bait. The river mouth is still producing good Bream on worm and prawn.

Mallacoota: The surf for Salmon on pilchard and poppers. The Bottom Lake for Flathead using lures. Bream are cruising the Bottom Lake taking yabbies. Harrisons Channel for Luderick on weed.

Omeo High Country: No rain to freshen up the rivers. The best spot for Trout is the Mitta Mitta with grasshoppers as the bait of choice.
