Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: The Barrier and Fraser Island for King George Whiting on pipis and worm. Kingfish are at the footbridge taking lures and pilchard. The Post Office Jetty for Trevally on pilchard. The surf for Salmon. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for Snapper, Flathead and Gummies closer to shore.

Lake Tyers: Best time for Flathead is around 7am and 6pm taking lures at the Glass House. Bream are in the deeper water around the edges on yabbies and prawn.

Mitchell River: Bream are about The Cut, Grassy Banks and towards Shadoff Lodge taking hard bodied lures, prawn, soft shell and crab. The Eagle Point boat ramp for Garfish.

Tambo River: Johnsonville boat ramp and down towards the river mouth for Bream with yabbies as preferred bait.

Nicholson: Between the two bridges and at the river mouth are the best areas to try for Bream and trolling may produce Tailor on lures.

Metung: Boole Poole shore line and eastern entrance of the lake for King George Whiting taking worm and pipis.

Paynesville: Newlands Arm and Duck Arm are producing smaller Kingfish. Flathead are taking worm and prawn. The Straits for Mullet on worm.

Hollands Landing: The lake is still producing Sand Whiting and Flathead. Prawns are still about. The surf is good for Flathead, Gummies and Salmon on pilchard and poppers.

Marlo: The Brodribb River for Perch on live prawn. Bream are in the whole system on prawn, worm and crab. Mullet and Luderick on worm. From Marlo jetty to French’s Narrows for Flathead and Prawns. The surf for Salmon. Offshore for Gummies, Flathead, Squid and Kingfish.

Bemm River: The lake is producing Bream and Flathead taking lures, soft plastics and vibes. The surf for Salmon on blue bait and poppers.

Tamboon Inlet: At the big sand dune for King George Whiting on pipis and worm. The river mouth for Bream on worm. Prawns are down towards the entrance. Flathead are about Old Man Point and Pelican Point on pilchard.

Mallacoota: The surf for Salomon on pilchard and poppers. Tailor are still cruising the system taking lures. The Top Lake is still good for Bream and Flathead taking yabbies and lures.

Omeo High Country: Anglers Rest, the Mitta Mitta and all other rivers are worth trying for Trout. Hoppers, lures. Plastics are the best baits but also try fly patterns.
