Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: King george whiting are around Reeves Channel, Fraser Island and Nungurner. Best bait being fresh shrimp and squid. The Post Office Jetty has mullet and trevally on prawn. Kingfish are around the footbridge,with trevally near Ferrymans. Best baits pippies, squid and blue bait. Nice salmon are being taken off Eastern Beach using blue bait and blue surf poppers. Plenty of pinkies and mowong at Six Mile Reef on pilchards and squid.

Lake Tyers: Blackfellows Arm and Pile Bay Creek has nice bream around 36cm to 42cm in size taking prawn. The Glasshouse bank has pinkies on pilchard.Some bream, tailor and estuary perch are above the island. Flathead are in the deeper water. Best baits being prawns and plastics.

Mitchell River: The Mitchell River has bream around the backwater in Bairnsdale. From the Grassy Banks to “the cut” at Eagle Point for bream as well. Best bait being prawn, spider crab, shrimp and plastic curl tie grubs.

Tambo River: NO CURRENT REPORT AVAILABLE

Nicholson: Good numbers of bream are being taken around the bridges. Soft plastics and prawn are best baits to try.

Metung: NO CURRENT REPORT AVAILABLE

Paynesville: A few bream are being taken off the town jetties. The water is cool so the fish are moving away from the mouth and up river. Some whiting are being taken around Nungurner. Best baits are pippies, prawn, pilchards and squid.

Hollands Landing: Very quiet, not too many fishing at the moment.

Marlo: Bream and luderick are in the estuary taking prawn. The beaches have salmon and tailor, while off shore a few flathead and gummies are being taken.

Bemm River: The lake is closed at the moment, the water is very high. A few bream are in the lake on sandworm and local prawn. The surf has some salmon on blue bait and poppers.

Tamboon Inlet: NO CURRENT REPORT AVAILABLE

Mallacoota: Very quiet, not too many people fishing at the moment. Some gummies and swordfish being taken offshore.

Omeo High Country: NO CURRENT REPORT AVAILABLE
