Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: The town jetties for trevally on prawn and blue bait. Whiting are at the Barrier and the islands, best baits being pipi. Offshore at Six Mile Reef there are pinkies, morwong and leather jackets. Closer to shore for gummies and flathead.

Lake Tyers: The main lake and channel markers are still the best spots for bream and pinkies, taking prawn. Flathead are still active around the Glasshouse with pilchard as the preferred bait. Tailor are chasing metal lures.

Mitchell River: The Cut, Two Bells and down to the river mouth are best for bream. Baits of choice are shrimp, prawn and spider crab

Tambo River: Best spot for bream is heading down to the river mouth. The baits to use are soft plastics and live shrimp.

Nicholson: The river mouth is the best spot for bream with local prawn and live shrimp, also give soft plastics a try.

Metung: The Boardwalk and town jetties for bream taking prawn. Shaving Point for whiting on pipi. Trolling with metal lures will get you tailor.

Paynesville: Mullet are in the Strait on worm. Kingfish taking live baits. Trolling with metal lures for tailor.

Hollands Landing: The McLennan Strait and at Hollands Landing for bream with prawn, soft plastics and cut pilchard as preferred baits.

Marlo: Bream are still active in the river and lake system. Best baits being local prawn and soft plastics. Offshore for a good mixed bag.

Bemm River: The lake is producing bream taking local prawn. The river has luderick and bream with worm as best bait. Flathead and tailor are chasing metal lures.

Tamboon Inlet: Furnell Landing and the river mouth for bream on local prawn. Old Man Point for flathead on soft plastics and pilchard.

Mallacoota: The Top and Bottom Lakes for bream and flathead. Bastion Point and the Fisherman’s Wharf for trevally on white bait.

Omeo High Country: The Mitta Mitta is the best spot for trout on worm, soft plastics and metal lures.
