Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: Trevally taking pilchards off the Myer Street Jetty. Silver whiting at the Barrier, also King George Whiting at the point of Fraser Island on pipi.Some Kingfish are active past the paddle boat shed on squid legs and soft plastic lures. Offshore at the Pipeline for snapper andflathead.Kingfish are at the Six Mile Reef.

Lake Tyers: Mill Point and Blackfellows Arm for bream and flathead, best baits are prawn and blue bait. There is the odd Tailor about taking silver lures. Cameron’s Arm for perch.

Mitchell River: Best spots for bream are from Shadoof Lodge and down to the river mouth, best results onprawn and curl tail grubs.

Tambo River: Clues Bluff, Punthouse Point and along Rough Road are the best spots for bream with local prawn as preferred bait, also try Whelan’s and the Power Lines.

Nicholson: Best spot for bream is between the two bridges on spinning lures with a slow retrieving lure back to your position, also try a drifting prawn.

Metung: Weather has been patchy with mist and drizzle, but Box’s Creek is worth a try for bream, mullet and perch, try the shallow’s at night for bream on live prawn or fresh local prawn.

Paynesville: Bream are in the Strait on prawn as preferred bait. Tailor are still active chasing lures and kingfish are still taking squid as preferred bait.

Hollands Landing: Plover Point at the entrance for bream, mullet and flathead taking worm, also try the Strait and Medusa Point with prawn, soft plastics and worm for best results.

Marlo: The entrance has been open to the Ocean, but with the fires at Cape Conran fishing has been affected.

Bemm River: Owing to the closure of the Princes Highway at Orbost there is no fishing reports east of Orbost.

Tamboon Inlet: As above.

Mallacoota: As above.

Omeo High Country: Fishing impacted due to the drought and bushfires.
