Access begins in Myer Street, Lakes Entrance. Continue up Myer Street and it turns into Palmers Road.

Continue past the Golf Course, where the road then turns into Colquhoun Road. Go past the Great Lakes Airport on the right.

Continue a bit further, then turn left into Scriveners Road. This will take you to the beginning of the Discovery Trail.

Navigating through the Colquhoun Forest is easy, as the Discovery Trail is well marked.

There are small creek crossings, lots of wildlife, and it's an absolute joy to do this ride during the summer, as the forest canopy shades you.

The end of the Discovery Trail takes you to the East Gippsland Rail Trail, going from Bairnsdale through to Newmerella (Orbost).

Surface:

The track is comprised of compacted earth with some small steep gradients.
